Who?

Move aside Robert Pattinson, there’s a new kid in town. Aussie actor (formerly in soap Neighbours, his hair has since improved), starred alongside Miley Cyrus in The Last Song (brilliant film) and now is best known as Gale in The Hunger Games.

Why do we love him this week?

The much-anticipated Hunger Games came out on Friday, so everyone should have seen him in it by now! He’s not in it (or the book) as much as I feel is appropriate unfortunately. However, he’s been holding his own and planting himself well and truly in the spotlight - rumours that he’s engaged to Miley, Teresa Palmer raving about what a great kisser he is, and copious amounts of print and TV interviews.

Where and when can we see him next?

Any decent cinema will have The Hunger Games showing over the next few weeks. Don’t miss out! He’s also appearing in AWOL, alongside Teresa Palmer and Aimee Teegarden, out this year, as well as The Expendables 2. In 2013, we have Timeless and Empire State to look forward to. In 2014 he’s playing Ali Baba in Arabian Nights. Phew! Lots lined up! And not forgetting that he’ll be in the other two Hunger Games, whenever they are coming out.

Top trivia:

In an interview with Details magazine he was asked what he likes best about America. He answered, the squirrels because they don’t have them in Australia and he finds them funny! Of all the things…

Favourite quote:

Miley Cyrus on Liam: 'He loves Can’t Be Tamed. He’s trying to make me teach him the [video] dance, but I refuse to do it.’
